RALEIGH - Late-arriving aftermath of this morning's commercial structure fire at 3204 Capital Boulevard, auto repair shop. Dispatched 2:41 a.m. Engine 11 arriving with heavy fire showing from a one-story structure on northbound side of Capital. Tax records say it's three adjoining structures, built 1957, with 996, 2087, and 2240 square-feet. Vehicles also found burning behind building. Limited access for apparatus, with Engine 11 and Ladder 15 parked at the top of the driveway, just off the roadway. Engine 19 with water supply, laid from Engine 11 to hydrant. Battalion 5 with command. Fire showing through roof. Hydrant caught on opposite side of Capital, with both directions of roadway closed. Engine 19 boosting pressure. Defense operations, with Ladder 15 (on reserve) deployed. Portable monitor plus three hand lines used. Extension from main building to adjoining structure. Special call for two additional engines and ladder at 3:30 p.m., for additional manpower. Controlled at 3:32 p.m. Move-ups included Engine 6 to Sta 27 and Ladder 1 to Station 11.
