RALEIGH - Special Operations Command (SOC) companies operating in the 5100 block of Glenwood Avenue, for an abandoned vehicle in flood waters, in back of an office building parking lot, where Crabtree Creek was overflowing. This followed heavy rains and severe weather, that saw several such responses around Raleigh.
On scene were Squad 14, Ladder 14, Mini 14 + boat trailer, High Water 17 (staffed by Engine 17), and Battalion _. Engine 16 and Rescue 16 had also arrived, but left the scene to respond to a reported structure fire, further west off Glenwood Avenue.
No one was found in the vehicle. Nor did the new high water vehicle enter the water. The four-person boat team took their craft back out into the water, for some practice operating in those conditions.
