RALEIGH - Hazardous device response on East Cabarrus Street. Hand grenade found in yard beside home. Engine 3, Engine 1, Ladder 4 , Battalion 2, EMS 11, District 9, among units that stood by, as police secured a blast zone, and evacuated three homes, followed by arrival and action of bomb squad. No hazard found. The old, rusted grenade was empty.
