RDU Airport Drill - Mar 2018
RALEIGH-DURHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - March 24, 2018. Full-scale emergency response exercises, as required by the FAA every three years, simulating the response to a runway incident involving a small private plane (crash with live fire) and large passenger jet (crash with live patients). Participating agencies from Wake and Durham counties, plus EMS units from Johnston and Franklin counties. "Victims" included local Red Cross and CERT volunteers. Event included briefings before and after at the airport maintenance facility off National Guard Drive, which also served as the staging location for fire and EMS units.
